Alloway village is also the location of the world famous Burns Cottage, birthplace of Robert Burns, and the Burns Heritage Centre - so at Doonbank Cottage you are truly in the heart of Burns country. It is said many of Burns poems were composed on this salmon rich riverbank, including "Ye Banks and Braes of Bonnie Doon"!.
