Straddling the River Eamont at the head of Lake Ullswater, Pooley Bridge is graced by its 16th century bridge and two wide main streets, lined with quaint gift shops, tea rooms and visitor services, which overlook the water sports activity on the lake. With Penrith (5 miles), Keswick and Lake Windermere all in easy reach, Finkle Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the delights of the Lake District National Park.

" We have just returned from a lovely 4 night break in Finkle cottage, the cottage is lovely with everything you need. The area is nice for walks around Ullswater. There are 3 pubs in Pooley Bridge that all serve nice food & also the tea rooms next to the bridge serve nice lunches, there is a post office that sells everything otherwise Penrith isn't far away if you want to go shopping. Very enjoyable & relaxing time spent at Finkle Cottage & we will return. "
