The Lecht ski centre is just 5 miles south of Tomintoul and with golf courses at nearby Ballindalloch, Dufftown, Grantown on Spey and Nethy Bridge and an adventure playground in Tomintoul for the children there is ample to keep the outdoor enthusiast entertained. Ballindalloch Castle is one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Speyside. It has been continuously occupied by the MacPherson Grant family since the mid 16th century. Braemar Castle and Balmoral Castle are also within easy reach all being within an hour's drive of Tomintoul.
