Within three miles lies the small market town of Masham with a quaint cobbled square, which plays host to weekly markets, speciality markets and Annual Sheep Fair every September. Masham boasts a good choice of inns excellent restaurant,, traditional shops and famous breweries. There is wonderful walking directly from the site into the beautiful Wendsleydale scenery with its medieval abbeys castles and waterfalls. Lightwater Valley Theme Park, Forbidden Corner (a garden of surprises), Leyburn and Fountains Abbey, and Ripon, with its dominating cathedral are all within ten miles. The elegant Spa town of Harrogate is 20 miles and the historic city of York is 35 miles. Golf, cycle hire, riding, fishing, sailing ; 3 miles. Pub one and a half miles, shops three miles.
