The area is also renowned for its wealth of sea-birds and even the occasional whale has been seen close to shore. There are numerous castles and distilleries on the famous Whisky and Castle Trails. The area is renowned for its golf and there are a number of excellent golf courses right on the doorstep Strathlene Golf club is just 5 minutes drive away.
