Rivershield is in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Warkworth, tucked down a quiet lane close to the River Coquet . This old stone-built property has been converted into two apartments . Rivershield has its own entrance and occupies the full length of the first floor offering lovely holiday accommodation, with a variety of interesting shops, restaurants, galleries and pubs within easy walking distance. Warkworth is a particularly pretty village trapped within a meander of the River Coquet. The main street leads up to a spectacular castle or follow the riverside path to a medieval hermatage. Warkworth's beach of fine golden sand, at the start of the heritage coast, is less than a mile away. Making Warkworth an ideal centre to explore the wild unspoilt beauty of Northumberland , its fantastic coastline and magnificent castles. Amble,less than 2 miles away is known as 'the friendliest port' offers boat excursions round Coquet Island a RSPB reserve famous for Puffins and other rare sea birds, or charter your own boat to explore the coast. Just 6 miles inland is the historic market town of Alnwick, also offers a wide range of amenities including shops a theatre/cinema, many restaurants; and of course its own medieval castle (which was film location for Harry Potter's Hogwarts Academy!) and Alnwick Garden, with its Grand Cascade Waterfall and largest tree house in Europe, is a popular attraction. .
