Ruecastle Bothy is a newly refurbished detached cottage situated in around 1,000 acres of picturesque farmland on the outskirts of Jedburgh. Ruecastle Farm is perched 3 miles above Jedburgh and boasts superb rural views. The town offers many facilities, including several tea rooms, shops and pubs as well as its renowned woollen mill. Visitors will enjoy the Castle Jail and Museum and Mary Queen of Scots House is an interesting visit too. Take a trip to Kelso, well known for its cobbled, French style square surrounded by quaint shops and enchanting tea rooms it was once described by Sir Walter Scott as the most romantic if not the most beautiful place in Scotland - only a short drive from Ruecastle Bothy. The town also offers a wide arrange of amenities including a cinema, indoor swimming, a pottery and an ice-rink. There are two 18-hole golf courses close by, one being the prestigious Roxburghe course and Springwood Park showground plays host to many international horse riding events throughout the year. Other local events include an annual dog show, the Border Union Trade Show, The British Motorcycle Federation Rally as well as the famous Jim Clarke Rally. This area also offers several fishing, walking, game shooting and horse riding opportunities. Floors castle (the family seat for the Duke of Roxburghe) is a popular visitor attraction and is softly illuminated at night.
