In close proximity are sandy beaches, famous medieval castles, market towns, craft villages and the ancient, Roman walled city of Chester with its Roman amphitheatre, fascinating architecture and array of styled bars, fine restaurants and shops.

Further down the coast, visitors can enjoy a trip to Winefride's Well, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales – situated in nearby Holywell, in addition to the remains of the 12th Century Basingwerk Abbey. Just a 10 minute drive away are numerous sandy beaches whilst the area is of particular interest to wildlife enthusiasts due to the dunes of nearby Talacre beach - an RSPB recommended watch area. Also within driving distance is the bustling market town of Mold – full of picturesque buildings, shops, pubs and a nationally renowned theatre.
