A charming rural retreat yet only 5 miles from Gateshead's Metro Centre and its huge variety of shops eating places and cinema this traditional converted granary certainly offers the best of town and country. Affording lovely walks and cycling through open countryside from the door it adjoins the owners' home overlooking their riding school where lessons and treks can be arranged. Within 2 miles the Beamish Open Air Museum offers a fascinating day out Newcastle and the cathedral city of Durham are a short drive and the Northumbrian coast is within an hours drive away. Pub and shop under 2 miles.

" Had an amazing wonderful break at the three arch cottage. Cottage very cosy and clean beautiful views and nice to see the horses and meet the friendly dogs even our dog archie seemed to like them.It was an ideal place to have a break if you was of to beamish, this we did for a full day and half and would like to visit definitely again it was great.Would like to explore more walks next time and visit Newcastle, an excuse to come back. Thank-you to all the girls at the arch cottage and the owners you where all so friendly. "

" I would recommend this cottage as it is a very clean and well presented cottage. It is very handy for travelling to Metro Centre. Holy Island, Beamish, Newcastle, Sunderland. Owners are very nice. Overall a very good holiday. "

" Three Arch Cottage has everything needed for a home from home holiday accommodation. Everyone was very welcoming and the friendly dogs and beautiful horses were a bonus. The location is perfect for the local pub which serves quality food all day and the countryside is lovely. It is within easy reach of Durham and Newcastle and the various attractions in Durham and Northumberland. I would not hesitate to recommend Three Arch Cottage to anyone as we so enjoyed our holiday there. "
