Nearby Ludlow and its castle are perched on a cliff above the winding River Teme in south Shropshire. This town shows evidence of its rich history on almost every street and it has become widely recognised as one of the most beautiful towns in the UK. Dining out here is a real pleasure, with a number of Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from. The Ludlow Festival is well worth a visit, comprising a diverse range of music, arts and crafts.
