Cosy sitting room with open fire. Dining room. Spacious kitchen. Bathroom/WC with corner bath and shower cubicle. First floor: Twin bedded room with TV and wash basin. Two further twin bedded rooms one with wash basin.

Pleasantly situated overlooking the duck pond in the pretty 'wolds' village of North Dalton these attractive comfortably furnished Georgian cottages provide an ideal base for exploring the area. Together with one other cottage they enjoy shared use of an outdoor swimming pool hard tennis court and a walled orchard garden. Walkers will enjoy the local footpaths including the 'Minster Way' and 'Wolds Way' and dogs are allowed to exercise on designated farm fields. The duck pond opposite the cottages supports a variety of wild life and the surrounding area is home to a wealth of scenic and historic places of interest.

The great houses of Sledmere and Burton Agnes are both within 10 miles as is the watersports centre at Brandesburton. Castle Howard the magnificent setting for TV's Brideshead Revisited and Goathland the setting for the TV series Heartbeat are within 1 hour's drive. The Deep in Hull Eden Camp Flamingo Land Pickering with the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway Bridlington's sandy bay RSPB Bempton Cliffs and the historic city of York with excellent shopping medieval architecture railway museum and the fascinating Jorvik Museum are all about 20 miles. Touring the unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds by car is a pleasure in itself. Golf 7 miles. Shop 3 miles. Pub within walking distance.

" Having just returned from a four night, new years stay at Tommies cottage, North Dalton, we would like to say a big thank you! The cottage was lovely, set in beautiful surroundings with a nice pub (the Star) directly across the road, we couldn't have wished for a nicer break. We found some nice walks in and around the village, and think that the cottage would be a perfect base for visiting areas such as York and Bridlington as well as being perfect with it's open fire and country characteristics for a romantic getaway. The amenities in the cottage were good, such as the large kitchen and spacious living areas, however the sleeping arangements were only really suitable for six adults, as the zed- bed is a very small single. We took our own air bed as a precaution however so it didn't affect us. Overall a great cottage at a very good price!! "
