" What a lovely stay we had at Turnpike Cottage. When we walked in the door I just said wow this is gorgeous the fire was so inviting - I couldn't wait to light it. It had everything in there that you needed nothing was forgotten even down to a jelly mould which brought back memories of making one. We went to Beer which is where the beach hut is what a fabulous place to go you must go there. Also Yeovil is a great place for shops - all in all our holiday was great and I would recommend it. "

" It is a pretty quaint cottage, like stepping back in time. Ideal for a short break especially if weather is good as have use of beach hut which is an added bonus. Beer is very picturesque resort with lots of lovely gift shops. The cottage is positioned perfectly for exploring Somerset,Dorset and Devon. Our dog enjoyed her stay also a lovely dog walking field close by for exercising. The cottage is a proud heritage for Chard which has been lovingly restored. "

" Initially I was concerned about the apparent size of the property based on the information provided on the website. I needn't have worried. Everything was perfect. From the moment we walked through the door and began exploring, nothing let us down. Even the steep stairs to the master bedroom were a feature of the character and charm of this building. Our two children who are aged 3 and 6 loved the building and woke up from their bunkbeds each morning fully refreshed and rechargend for another busy day. Even on days when we had lots of fun we always looked forward to returning back to the cottage each evening. The location on the outskirts of Chard was absolutley ideal and afforded us incredible views of rolling fields and the centre of Chard itself which could be walked to in a leisurely 20 minutes. All in all, the whole experience was wonderful and whilst I am happy to recommend the property, part of me also wants to keep it secret to preserve it. The level of clever inspiration, detail and attention to detail of the sympathetic renovation has preserved the heart and soul of this little building and ensures that it meets the expectations demanded of the discerning holiday-maker.
