Nearest shop 1 mile with further shopping in Thornhill.Guests can enjoy wandering around the village which boasts the country's only Lead Mining Museum or try panning for gold at the Mennock centre - the gold here is approx 22.8 carats! There are some lovely walks in this outstanding hill-walking country and the Southern Upland Way passes nearby. Fishing in local rivers, golf, pony trekking, mountain biking and good country roads for cycling. Easy day excursions can be enjoyed to the popular towns of Moffat, Dumfries and Ayr.
