Glen Affric Chalet Park 1 (Cannich ) - A warm Highland welcome awaits visitors to this small group of detached timber chalets set in landscaped gardens on the banks of the River Glass. This is a quiet and very scenic location in the heart of some of the most spectacular scenery in the Highlands. Glen Affric is one of the most majestic glens leading out of the village of Cannich, which is 1/2 mile from the park with village store and pub/hotel. This is an ideal situation for touring the north and west Highlands, Loch Ness is only a short drive and there are numerous beauty spots and forestry walks/ trails to be enjoyed. The area is well known for its sporting activities which include climbing, stalking, fishing, pony trekking, walking and cycling. For less strenuous activities, this is a popular spot for bird watching, photography and painting. This unique habitat of glens, lochs and Ancient Caledonian Pine Forests is home to many rare species including pine marten, otters, red squirrels, buzzards and the majestic golden eagle. The chalets are surrounded by safe grassed areas for playing and there is a barbecue area, childrens adventure playground and mountain bike hire. There is also a games room with pool table, table tennis, juke box and selection of books and games, internet and email facilities. The chalets offer well-presented, spacious accommodation and are well- insulated and heated for all year round comfort. Private parking adjacent to each chalet. Large laundry room available with coin operated machines and Payphone.Each chalet has 1 double, 1 twin and 1 room with bunk beds; living room with dining area, well-equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath. Ness Castle Lodges

Lovat Highland Bothy

Lovat Highland Bothy (Wester Lovat ) - Set above the Beauly Firth with far reaching views across to Ben Wyuis from this spacious and well presented lodge. Although the owner lives next door the property still enjoys quiet and private surroundings with a woodland to the rear and an attractive wide deck. The owner has to bee hives within the grounds and occasionally there will be a pot of honey left at the bottom of the garden from them. Only 3 miles from the lovely village of Beauly with good shops and a choice of restaurants. The owners can provide clay pigeon shooting, day or night excursions on a Rib on Loch Ness (both at cost). Beaufort Estate

Beaufort Estate (Beauly ) - Historic home to the Clan Fraser for generations this most beautiful and renowned of Highland Estates with its ancient specimen trees and abundant wildlfe is the glorious setting for the six charming properties we offer here. Standing near the meandering waters of the River Beauly they all enjoy wonderful walking straight from the door with plentiful opportunities for picnics with red kites deer and red squirrels regularly spotted. And just 3 miles from this rural idyll lies Beauly frequent award winner of Britain in Bloom and home to interesting shopping and a variety of restaurants as well as the ruins of a 13th century priory. At Loch Ness 10 miles away visitors can explore Drumnadrochit's award winning Monster exhibition take a boat trip or go riding and enjoy spectacular loch views from the ruins of Urquart Castle. Excellent golf courses abound and there is often the chance to watch the ancient game of shinty played on local pitches. Strathglass is a delight to visit with the great glens of Cannich Strathfarrar and Affric (National Nature Reserve) to explore encompassing the ancient Caledonian pine forests. Tomich a beautiful stone built conservation village where the first Golden Retriever was bred boasts a good pub and from here visitors can walk to the dramatic gorge and view the rushing Plodda Falls. Inverness (11 miles) offers excellent cultural amenities a new riverside theatre complex fine dining and excellent shopping as well as bottle nosed Dolphin cruises on the Moray Firth and river cruises on Loch Ness. Close to Inverness lies Culloden Moor the site of the last battle fought on British soil in 1746 and with an excellent visitors' centre. Romantic Cawdor Castlecomplete with a tower and drawbridge is popularly associated with Shakespeare's Macbeth and has lovely gardens and grounds. Within an hour's drive the Cairngorm National Park a renowned centre for outdoor pursuits offers mountain bike tracks water sports skiing and snowboarding (in season) the Cairngorm funicular mountain railway Sled dog adventure centre and Cairngorm Reindeer Herd. The Jacobite Trip a steam railway journey crossing the world famous Glenfinnan viaduct (now featuring in the Harry Potter films) should not be missed and the Highland Wildlife Park and Landmark Scotland's 'Theme Park' are also great attractions. Carrbridge 2

Carrbridge 2 (Carrbridge ) - In a quiet wooded residential lane on the edge of the village, this charming timber lodge is the ideal base for touring the Central Highlands and Speyside. Carrbridge lies within the Cairngorm National Park which offers a wealth of outdoor activities including walking, climbing, bird-watching, winter sports, water sports, golf, off road driving and horse riding. The village is home to the famous Landmark Heritage Centre, which offers entertainment for all ages all year round. Carrbridge also has a shop, cafe and pub while Inverness is a half hour drive with all the facilities of a major city. The village station is along the lane offering the chance of a spectacular rail trip on the Highland Line. Wildcat Lodge

Wildcat Lodge (Inverness ) - Big Sky Lodges has over 17 acres of open fields and woodland, with accommodation in six luxurious holiday log cabins set on the owner’s croft, in the heart of the glorious Highlands of Scotland, ideally situated just ten minutes from Inverness and near to Loch Ness. Mountain Thyme Lodge

Mountain Thyme Lodge (Spean Bridge ) - In a wonderful setting (right photograph) right by the shingle beach of magnificent Loch Lochy in the Great Glen with access to good roads makes this ideal for exploring the Highlands. The loch provides excellent fishing (free from March to October). Nearby for hill walking pony trekking skiing (in seasons) golf and cycle trails. Boat trips and scenic steam train rides at Fort William or discover good restaurants and views over the Caledonian Canal lock gates at Fort Augustus (both 17 miles). Bracken Lodge

Bracken Lodge (Spean Bridge ) - In a wonderfully scenic location in the heart of the Great Glen, this small group of south-facing Scandinavian pine log lodges all have superb panoramic views of Loch Lochy and the mountain range beyond. To the rear, Ben Tee rises to nearly 3000 ft, ideal for climbing and walking. The Great Glen long distance trail passes the entrance to the chalet park and is very popular with walkers, cyclists and mountaineers. Free fishing is available on Loch Lochy and the use of a boat with ghillie can be arranged at extra cost. Permits are also available for salmon and trout fishing on surrounding rivers and lochs. Water sports centre 3 miles and in the winter months, skiing and snow-boarding can be enjoyed at Nevis Range. This is also a good central base for exploring the majestic scenery and many historic castles and monuments which lie along the Great Glen from Inverness to Fort William. Horse-riding and golf are available at Fort Augustus, where cruises on the Caledonian Canal can also be enjoyed. For those interested in natural history, the area abounds with wildlife - deer, osprey, pine martens, golden eagles and buzzards, to name a few. The pine martens resident near the lodges regularly visit the verandahs to be fed their favourite titbits of a jam or peanut butter piece. Seasonal pub 1.5 miles, small shop 3 miles, general store and pubs at Invergarry (5 miles). The lodges are beautifully sited at the top of a steep slope and have been double glazed and refurbished throughout to create a warm, welcoming and very comfortable atmosphere. The last half mile to the lodges is on a rough track road. A stock-proof fence surrounds the 5 acre area in which the lodges are sited. The pebbled beach can be reached via a gate leading down a steep embankment to the lochside.Bracken is a 2 storey lodge with 1 double and 1 twin room with balcony off upstairs; ground floor open plan dining / living area with verandah off, well-equipped kitchen with double bedroom off, bathroom with power shower over bath. Black Grouse

Black Grouse (Glen Urquhart ) - Black Grouse is part of Bearnoch Country Cottages which nestles within the peaceful scenery of Glen Urqhart, only 5 miles from the attraction of Loch Ness, providing accomodation for up to 32 people in total. Set in lush countryside surrounded by natural woodland, each cottage has their own private garden to further enjoy the spectacular views.
