Warm Weather
The West Country, Particularly the south coast enjoys some of the best weather in the UK. The beaches on the southside face the English Channel and France resulting in warmer seas than the north side. The north side enjoys excellent surfing at some beaches in Cornwall for example. Newquay is a particular hotspot for surfers.
