Rowan Cottage is a lovely detached property which sits on the hillside overlooking Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde, near Dunoon. Set on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, the cottage is one of four situated within a small holiday development with ample outdoor activities available. Internally, Rowan is spacious, comfortable and cosy. On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with a wood burning stove, with feature glass hearth. There is also a shower room and separate toilet and a double bedroom downstairs. Large patio doors leading out onto a deck with magnificent views over the sea and hills beyond and complete with garden furniture. There is access to a barbecue area in the open plan/shared garden surrounding the cottages. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms; one family room with a double and single bed, the second room is a single, both rooms have coombed ceilings. Rowan Cottage can be booked along with Alder Cottage to provide accommodation for up to 12 people. The Cowal Peninsula is a lovely part of Scotland, bordered on three sides by stunning sea lochs and to the north by the majestic Arrochar Alps. It has its own unique history and unspoiled natural environment. Cowal is peppered by many lovely small communities, all offering something unique while in total contrast, the only town, Dunoon which is a lively gathering place for the whole community and is only a 20 minute drive away. The natural environment of Cowal is superb, it is beautiful to simply soak in but it is also the place to find wildlife in abundance, from red squirrels and red deer in the woods to porpoises, dolphins and basking sharks in the lochs. There is ample bird life enjoying the wide and varied habitats. Outdoor activity is easily found, from sailing & kayaking on the sheltered waters to cycling and walking in the woods the Argyll Forest can be accessed directly behind the property. Golf, horse riding, fishing and are all available. Cowal is also the place for adventure sports including gorge walking, mountain biking, rock climbing and abseiling as well as quad biking, archery, clay shooting. For anyone who is passionate about food, Cowal offers the best of fresh, local produce, from the seafood caught daily, to the local organic beef, poultry, game, lamb and free range eggs, buy it and cook it yourself or have a great night out in a choice of restaurants.
