A cosy former miners cottage nestling in the delightful and ancient village of Bonsall near Matlock on the edge of the stunning Peak District. Acorn Cottage is a mid terrace cottage lovingly restored and individually styled to offer all the comforts of modern living but still retaining the charm of this wonderful cottage. The open plan living area boasts a cosy log burning stove, ideal to relax and unwind by after a busy day exploring the local area.
The charming and traditional conservation village of Bonsall is situated in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, four miles from Matlock. Named in the Domesday Book, with a history dating back to Roman times, this former lead mining and textile producing village is renowned for the World Hen Racing Championship's held on the first Saturday in August at the Barley Mow pub. This part of Derbyshire has a rich heritage, with nearby Cromford being home to the Arkwright Mills and Crich, playing host to a Tramway Village. Matlock Bath is just a short drive away and is the base for the cable car leading to the Heights of Abraham, a sixty-acre hilltop country park. Walkers and mountain bikers will delight in the magnificent trails that abound in this part of the Peaks, whilst watersports enthusiasts are well-served by Carsington Water, which is just seven miles away. A cosy and comfortable Bonsall cottage, perfect for a holiday at any time of the year.
