    Local Area

Surfers flock to catch the waves all along the coast from Sennen to Newquay and Bude, and while Gwithian Beach offers the best kite and windsurfing in the country, there are also miles of clean, sandy beaches and lively resorts perfect for family days out. The spectacular coastline is great for walking too. The Camel Trail, a disused railway line following the River Camel between Bodmin and Padstow, is now a superb walking and cycling path, and inland you’ll find a glorious landscape of hidden valleys and sweeping moorland dotted with ancient stone circles and steeped in legend. A visit to King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel is a must, and artists have long been lured to the picturesque town of St Ives, for its special quality of light and the loveliness of its coastal setting.

I would recommend this site to all, but must be car owners as site is a bit isolated. Excellent for people who require a quiet holiday and enjoy the countryside.

Very restful the kids loved it especially Will the farm dog (and the warm welcome from the family). It's very close to the otter santury, well worth a visit. We hope to rebook in Aug/Sept.

Avallon Lodges are ideal if you require a 'get away from it all' holiday. The accommodation is in a quiet, relaxing setting, yet places such as Bude and Port Issac are only a short drive away.

We needed a quiet relaxing few days away from the rat race and this fitted the bill. The lodge was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. The lodge was situated on a working dairy farm so the only sound you heard was the cows, no traffic or hustle and bustle of everyday living with plenty of open space for our dog Millie to run. We would certainly be back.

Not only was the park very easy to find, but it was quiet and was surrounding by beautiful countryside. The staff were incredibly friendly, and were always willing to help and answer any questions. We took our dog along also, and he was welcomed lovingly by the resident working collie - He would come over to play when he finished herding the cattle for the day! We had a fantastic time at Avallon Lodges, and recharged our well worn batteries. We'd recommend it to anyone - thank you!
