Mr H Essex

" Loved Barney the cute friendly cat! We have had a lovely time, the cottage is beautiful with gorgeous scenery, such lovely gardens. Enjoyed the pool, Luke had a fab time splashing around. Thank you so much for the fruit and wine, a lovely surprise! Weather glorious. Thanks again, sad to go! "

Mr L Durham

" A thoroughly enjoyable short break, we only wish we had more time. The owners were very welcoming and the cottage just what you'd expect from a quaint Old English setting. Very handy for local amenities, and a great base to explore the Peaks - thanks very much! "

Mr F Norfolk

" The Peak District was a lovely place to visit but we very quickly realized we would need much more than one week to see all the places we wanted to go and see, so I am sure we will be back for more. "

Mrs E Hampshire

" We had a great time. The kids loved to swim in the pool everyday and the owner Mr Park was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The cottage was clean, tidy and had enough kitchen facilites if you wanted to cook. There were lots of information in the cottage of what to see and do in the Peak District. There is a Morrisons supermarket in town and a Tescos down the road within easy distance of the cottage, and both had petrol stations too. We tried the two Italian resturants in Chapel and both were really good, also the Indian takeaway too. Just 5 minutes walk from the cottage was the Fallow Deer pub/resturant, similar to Harvester pubs, good value and we could have a few drinks and not worry about driving. Alton Towers was only 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours drive and well worth a visit. The caves in Castleton are well worth a visit, especially the boat one at speedwell. We went to Hayfield and took the short walk up Kinder Scout taking 2 hours, fantastic scenery and worth the effort too. We also took in Warwick Castle on the way up and the Dungeons were good as well as the trebuchet display. Thank you very much for a lovely time! "

Mrs H Surrey

" A very enjoyable stay and a great location for exploring the Peak District. "

Mrs M London

" The Welcome by the owner was exceptional. Some very special personal touches included a basket of fresh fruit, a nice bottle of wine, Tea, Milk and Sugar and flowers in each room to make us feel very special. There were lots of details made available for local events and activities "

Mr J Erith

" Good area for visiting the Peak District would recommend Dunge Valley Gardens. "
