Fern Cottage, at the end of a long private drive is a picture-book detached stone cottage with an ivy clad façade and roses around the door waiting to greet you. The private and enclosed garden enjoys long views over the surrounding organically farmed valley, some of the prettiest countryside in South Devon. Inside, the cottage is traditional and unpretentious. The lounge has an open fireplace with a wood burning stove and glazed doors which open onto the garden. The kitchen has an oil-fired Aga, ideal for taking the chill off of those crisp frosty mornings. Upstairs are two bedrooms – a double and a room with two single beds; both with rural views and a bathroom. At nearby Bigbury on Sea you can cross the water by sea tractor to explore Burgh Island or in the small market town of Kingsbridge, try your hand at one of the watersports on offer including sailing and paddleboarding.
There is one or more televisions at Fern Cottage. Ideal if you want to catch up with the latest on your favourite programmes or just fancy a quiet night in relaxing in front of the box.
