On nice days, when you want to relax you can sit out in The Old Stable's garden and enjoy the sun shine. Children also love the outdoors so it can be a great place for them. Although, with young children you should always check any garden is safe for them.
Why waste part of your holiday doing the washing up. The Old Stable has a dishwasher installed to save you time, and family arguements, about the washing up. Everybody hates doing the washing up and the last thing you need is a big family arguement about who is going to do the washing up while you are on holiday.

You will find this charming apartment on the ground floor of a converted stables within the Grade II listed Smithincott Barton Farm. The Old Stable is a contemporary bolthole, perfect for couples, well equipped and quirky with vintage signs, antiques and contemporary art works, making it stand out from the crowd. All on one level and on the ground floor, this apartment is also ideal for those with walking difficulties as you can also park right outside the front door (please be aware that the driveway surface is chippings). There is a lovely outside seating area (not enclosed), complete with an outside table and chairs - perfect for a spot of alfresco dining. The property also welcomes up to 2 well behaved dogs, there are some fabulous countryside walks to be had nearby and the friendly owners are also happy for you to explore their surrounding fields or climb the hill to watch the sunset.
Smithincott Barton Farm is a real delight, home to both the welcoming owners who live in the old farmhouse, and a range of farm animals, including chickens and sheep and there are free range eggs often available.
Smithincott is nestled in the beautiful Devon countryside on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, the location is peaceful and quiet, yet only 5 minutes from the M5 and within easy reach of Exeter, Exmoor, Dartmoor and the South sand North coasts making this an ideal base to explore the area. The village of Uffculme, complete with café, shop and pub is also just a mile away, perfect if you want to leave the car at home for the day.
