Herb Cottage is a stunningly refurbished Edwardian two bedroom town house offering the highest quality accommodation, equipped with all the modern luxuries and extras to make for a perfect West Country break. Located in the heart of Axminsters Conservation area, a stones throw from the beautiful mediaeval Minster and its surrounding green, Herb Cottage offers the best of all worlds, being perfectly located for exploring both Devon and Dorset, countryside and coast. It is also an ideal spot to stay for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls famous cookery courses at the River Cottage HQ, which is just on the outskirts of town. For those wanting the beach, you have Lyme Regis, Charmouth, West Bay and Bridport just a short drive away or, heading further into Devon through the incredible Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is Seaton, with its historic tram way, and Beer and all points beyond. Herb Cottage really is set in a perfect location. Four miles inland from Lyme Regis, Axminster is the first town over the border from Dorset and its filled with great places to eat, shop and explore. The River Cottage Kitchen is just around the corner from the cottage, as is the Cow & the Bean gourmet burger restaurant; the amazing Community Waffle House; the historic coaching inn, the George; an excellent Indian restaurant; a splendid Chinese as well as the superb Italian/Maltese, Le Pisani. In fact you can eat out every night of the week and never need the car! Independent shops, the weekly market around the Church green, the award winning real ale pub, the Axminster Inn, and numerous coffee shops make it a great place to stay. Herb Cottage has been designed and equipped to offer the discerning holiday maker a luxury home from home. The sitting room is a perfect place to relax at the end of the day after exploring the surrounding area; the dining area is ideal for leisurely meals, whilst the bright, sunny and fully equipped kitchen and garden room leads out into the pretty enclosed courtyard garden, with a selection of seating to enjoy outdoor dining on those sunny days. The master bedroom has plenty of space for relaxing whilst the twin room has two single beds. A spacious family bathroom is on the same floor whilst a short flight of steps takes you to a separate cloakroom. Please note: this property does not take children under 10 years of age. Living Room/Dining Room:A large, bright spacious room divided into a lounge area and dining area by a vintage French display unit, the seating area offers two 3-seater comfy sofas, a designer arm chair, butlers coffee table, book shelves with a selection of reading material and, over the fireplace, a 55” top of the range Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney channels. In the fireplace there is an electric log effect fire, and the wicker basket beneath the desk unit houses games, jigsaws, puzzles and packs of cards should the weather turn inclement.
The dining area has a large table, comfortably seating six with four chairs and a long bench seat, with a designer pendant light above, making this a very stylish spot to enjoy dinner. There is a separate door leading out into the courtyard garden.
Further designer pieces, mirrors, pictures and lamps complete the room, creating a haven of luxury and relaxation.
Kitchen:The bright and airy kitchen is perfect for those who enjoy cooking. It is fully equipped with everything you could need – a five ring Gas Hob, double Electric Oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, full sets of pans, Le Creuset style cast iron casserole dishes, serving bowls, crockery, cutlery, utensils, good quality glass wear, dishwasher, 4 slice toaster, and tea and coffee making facilities including a cafetiere and Dolce Gusto coffee machine, complete with pods. There is also a washer/dryer and an iron and ironing board.
The kitchen has a coffee corner/breakfast bar with stools and a relaxing sunny seating area with picture windows out onto the courtyard garden. The back door opens out onto the tiered garden, with its various levels, seating areas and summerhouse.

Master Bedroom:This spacious bedroom at the front of the house has a 5' king size bed with a luxurious super-king Australian wool duvet, bedside tables and lamps, a tall chest of drawers with a mirror unit, and plenty of hangers and storage spaces for clothes. If the news on the wall-mounted TV becomes too much, you canalways relaxin the window chairs and enjoy the view of the church green, and watch the world go by.
Second Bedroom:This garden-facing bedroom has twin beds, plenty of hanging space as well as a bedside table with lamp and a tall chest of drawers with a mirror above. Ideal for teenagers, the room has its own smart TV and a Nintendo Wii mini console (complete with games for different ages) tucked away in the bottom drawer of the dresser.
Family Bathroom:The spacious family bathroom has a shower over the full size bath, W.C and good sized wash basin.
Stairs Leading to:
A short flight of stairs leads you to a cloakroom with a second WC and hand basin.
